Is there a Museum of Popular Culture in Atlanta

Updated: Jul 26, 2019

No, but there should be. It's a fictional creation in my novel In Search of a Soul. Multi-billionaire, Tyler Perry, establishes it in the late 2020s. This background is not in my book—many details reside only in my voluminous supporting notes.

Why Tyler Perry? The only thing bigger than the smile on his face is his heart—my kind of man. He's contributed extensively to the arts and is a popular culture legend in his own right. He's still alive in 2075, by the way. Modern medicine, a national health care plan, and all that.

Nina, Nicole's thrice great grandmother, was one of Tyler's friends. Unfortunately, she passed away in 2063. Don't worry. She led a full life. She was a hundred and three when she passed. Her favorite place was the MPC. She took Nicole with her friends Shade and Erika there every chance she got.

The MPC is more than just window dressing where Nicole and her friends go to watch movies, play video games, listen to music, relive sports matches, admire art, and enjoy other exhibits. It may just hold the secret to how one defeats a sentient artificial intelligence come to life. Omnipotent, Mircalla threatens the psybernet—the internet of 2075—a mysterious virtual domain.

Is this the end of mankind? “Not if this scatter-brained, brick-and-mortar girl has anything to say about it. I bet my ancient martial arts skills can kick some futuristic, high-tech ass!” Nicole says. She's been to the Museum of Popular Culture. She knows something about Mircalla that Mircalla doesn't know about herself.
